#Christmas Feels!

As with any festival, Christmas too has many traditions and customs which are being carried forward by families the world over. These traditions and customs may be as varied as the diversity in cultures. Some, though are common to everyone celebrating Christmas in any part of the world.
One of the most popular traditions on Christmas is exchanging gifts on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning. Everyone loves receiving gifts on Christmas. Children, with their innocence wait eagerly for Santa Claus to bring them gifts. In many countries children hang stockings or socks believing that it will be filled with goodies by Santa Claus. But, as adults we understand the significance of giving more than receiving and plan way ahead to get something thoughtful for our near and dear ones.
The tradition of collecting and passing on Christmas ornaments from one Christmas to the next helps in creating fond memories for years to come. Christmas ornaments can be homemade or bought from a store. But a commercial ornament can never compete with the personal touch of an ornament handed down a family tree.
Christmas tree is one of the symbols most easily associated with the festival of Christmas. The Christmas tree takes the pride of place in every living room of every home from Christmas and right up to New Year. Decorating a Christmas tree spells family time as it brings the whole family together right before and at Christmas time. Usually decorations start way ahead of the eve of Christmas. People, irrespective of regions and cultures plan on beautifying their Christmas tree. One can get as creative or individualistic as they want to in the process of looking after and decorating their Christmas tree
Christmas Dinner is the primary meal eaten on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. Though the menu of this meal may differ across regions or cultures but some of the essential items which are Turkey, Christmas pudding, and Christmas cake are present more or less in every menu. The whole charm of cooking and eating Christmas Dinner with family and people close to you is what makes it different from any meal.

These are the traditions that have undergone a lot of change with time. The plays usually depict the Nativity scene associated with the birth of Jesus Christ but may consist of adaptations to the same theme. The word carol represents a festive song mostly associated with the festival of Christmas. No festive occasion can be complete without music. This holds true for Christmas as well, people sing carols and songs to create the perfect atmosphere for celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. Traditions and customs are the special flavor of any festivity and that holds true for Christmas as well. It is a festival that is known for its spirit of joyousness and its celebratory atmosphere. These traditions define the gladness and spirit of the season of celebrations that we know as Christmas.

“CLIMATE CHANGE”

Nowadays climate change is the biggest problem of the world we are living today. It is already happening and represents one of the greatest environmental, social, and economic threats facing our planet today.
The warming of the climate system is unequivocal, as is now evident from observations of increases in global average air and ocean temperature, widespread melting of snow and ice, and rising global mean sea level. Most of the warming that has occurred over the past years is very likely to have been caused by human activities. The global average surface temperature is likely to rise. The climate can affect every person and our health directly through the increasing of earth’s temperature. Such increases may lead to more extreme heat waves during the summer while producing less extreme cold spells during the winter. There can be also extreme floods and droughts and typhoons/hurricanes. Nowadays there are also factories that really destructive to our health and pollute the air, water and all body surfaces of the world. Another massive problem is that the sea levels are rising and other parts of it was destroyed and/or polluted by dirty materials used by humans or the factories or establishments. Also the expansion of ocean water is caused by warmer ocean temperatures. And the one that is a big issue today is the Green House Effect where it destroys the natural beauty of our Mother Earth.

I think it is better to stop the changes in climate and then gradually reduce the hunger in the poor countries. Because if we stop the changes, we are going to be healthier and everything around us will be cleaner and it will be how it actually should be. I believe harmony between nature and human beings will return and we will be avoiding all diseases that can harm our health. Let’s go and help save our Mother Earth before anything will happen to us.

Outpouring Hearts and Minds through Literacy and English Proficiency

In our world today, languages are very important. Different languages are used by all countries around the world, first is their original language and second the languages they will use to communicate to other cultures. English language is one of the languages used by everybody and it is said to be the universal language. So every year, we are celebrating the English Month Celebration where we are recognizing the importance of literacy and languages. There were activities made to increase the skills of joining of every students like me. This year's theme of the English Month celebration is "Outpouring Hearts and Minds through Literacy and English Proficiency." It was amended by English Coordinator Marcelino V. Malaban. He said that the importance of learning English language is not only the individual's local and domestic pursuits but for the global affairs as well. English language enlarges human experiences, understandings and practices. This English language is so widely spoken. It had been referred as the "world or global language."
The first importance of English language is that it is a mean to communicate in the interconnected and interdependent world. Nowadays, English is called International Language and it is also the second language of other countries in the world. Therefore, we can realize the importance in communication of this language. When we know English, we can come to and communicate with the citizens of most of counties in this globe, without any confusion in expressing our ideas, thoughts and feelings or emotions. English is widely spoken here in the Philippines. It is used as the business language as well as the medium of expression in schools. It is the language used by the people all over the world in order to communicate with each other. It is also used to connect to other cultures. From this, it is important to encourage all people to be more informed about the advantage of being proficient to it. English proficiency is the ability to speak, read and or write in English. To be proficient, one should have advanced abilities in all of this areas of communication. It was also observed that when we use this proficiencies we can advance to the new world of understanding. Why learning English language is important?  Because it is fun! It is exciting and by learning English, you will also learn about other philosophies. Few experiences will make you grow as a person more than learning the values, habits and way of life in a culture that is different from yours.
In brief, we cannot deny the importance of English language in this modern world. This language helps us to express our knowledge, to talk, to exchange views, and to contract between person and person though wherever we live. Furthermore, in the world that English is considered as the main language, English is now taking an important part in the chance to take a job. Hence, we can predict that English language will continue to develop and bring us more advantages in the near future; and, maybe someday, English will be appreciated as one of the languages in the world.

Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities

In our world today, opportunities and chances are given to us but we didn’t know when we get there, that there are limitations or boundaries for that is the basis to choose the right one. But in the reality, is this helpful, is this okay to the persons who were not given equal chances for being the one? Is this okay to improve the quality of life of the human beings? The answer is a big NO!

Let us try to expand then this topic. The examples that are needing equal rights, equal chances and equal opportunities are countless. Like in Education, applying in a school to study there but sadly to say you are not qualified because you are not a rich man. In love, you are an ugly men and your crush don’t like you because you are like that and your crush would choose the other one that is more presentable than you. In applying a job, you are in the first row of chairs but they intended to pick the one that is in the last row because they know that person because he is popular and he is connected to the company or establishment that he was applying for. In falling in line, the first must be the girls rather than the boys. In a single comfort room, for both male and female, it must be the girls turn first than the boys. Is this fair? Is this rational? What is the reason why there are unfair or biased people that they intended to choose the one that is connected or close to them even though there are others who want to get there but they don’t.

Equal rights and equal opportunities is the essence of a genderless community. Whoever he/she is, should be given equal treatment, same favor and accorded with what is just, good or proper. With this generally accepted concept, we will be creating a culture of oneness, agreeing with the fact which is morally or socially correct and acceptable to all mankind. If the idea of oneness is recognized favorably as binding principle, a boundless community with equal rights and opportunities is instituted.

My Mother in ICT IV

In my life as a student, I know that we cannot stop the challenges, tasks, responsibilities, duties, tests and trials that we are encountering each day of our life in school because there are works and activities that should be finished in the exact time.
In our ICT subject I learned something like creating posts and trying to edit it to be more presentable to see. Trying to put something in there in our posts. In our posts we can share our feelings, the knowledge or information I discover or observed from my everyday life in school. The happenings happened in the school and the learnings got from the school. And I discover I can improve my writing skills to be posted in my blog, in other words I can write essays or somewhat journals that happened in me and this is to be posted in my blog. This blog is not only a requirement but at the same time, we may express our inner thoughts or knowledge or the happenings happened to us.
Nothing problems or challenges I have encountered but the only problem I have encountered is the internet connection when it is not functioning well or the network connection is not available and so I cannot make my post anymore. But I address this problem or challenge in me by asking help from my teacher in ICT IV, Mrs. Evelyn Vera Cruz. She is the one who can help me in my problem. She can fix the problem I encountered in my computer workstation. She is the one. She is awesome because she teach us in a nice way.
Moving on, I will do everything to do my activities, projects and assignments be a good outcome of every sacrifices I made. I will assure that I will finish all my requirements on time.

Intramurals 2014

Intramural sports or intramurals are recreational sports organized within a particular institution, usually an educational institution, or a set geographic area. The term, which is  derive from the Latin words “intra muros” meaning "within walls", and was used to describe sports matches and contests that took place among teams from "within the walls" of an institution or area. It is contrasted with extramuralvarsity or intercollegiate sports, which are played between teams from different educational institutions. The word intermural, which also correctly means "between institutions".

Intramurals are an organization of sports teams created for students who seek the opportunity to play sports inside the school campus. Those who participate in intramurals range in age, ability, and gender. These sports teams allow students to play a sport they enjoy without committing to a varsity team. Intramurals are designed for everyone to have fun but still have a competitive edge.
Intramural Activities offer activities that promote fun and fair play. Among other benefits, there is a great way to meet new people, relieve stress, build self-esteem and provide leadership opportunities for those who participate.
The Intramural program is one of the best programs on campus. It's not only a great way to meet people and have a great time, but you might even get some fun exercise out of it too. That's why our intramural in our school is somewhat awesome and special even there are obstructions like the typhoon that comes to our place but nothing is impossible.  Our intramurals are resumed and all sport games were continued.

My Teacher, My Hero!

In my life as a student in school, I learn something, I learn everything. Important lessons, important discussions, fun exercises, tiring activities and frightful tests but it’s okay for me. In life, people may come and go, some will be remembered and some will be forgotten. But one thing I am sure of, you can never forget the important persons whom you can also call as your second parents, second guardian and second protectors. These are our teachers.
The role of teacher is often formal and ongoing, carried out at a school or other place of formal education. In many countries, a person who wishes to become a teacher must first obtain specified professional qualifications or identifications. My father is also a teacher, so, I prefer to become also a teacher someday because my father is my inspiration to have my career in the future.
The role of a teacher is to help students apply concepts, such as Math, English, Science, and ICT through classroom instructions and presentations. Their role is also to prepare lessons, manage the classroom, meet with parents, and work closely with their students. Being a teacher is much more than just executing lesson plans, they also carry the role of a surrogate parent, disciplinarian, mentor, counselor, book keeper, role model, planner and many more. In today's world a teacher's role is a multifaceted profession.
One benefit of the role of a teacher is being a constant role model for their students. Children that lack a solid family foundation will really benefit from a positive role model. Teacher's that portray an image of confidence and accomplishment will help fulfill a child's need of a positive role model when the family may fail to provide such a figure.

Teaching is a noble profession. Teaching is something to be proud of. So, teachers are great and awesome. When we’re talking about our teachers, all of us are glad to thank them especially when you've learned a lot of great lessons from them. But we can never regret that sometimes we hate them because they are giving us a lot of home works and projects and activities which are so difficult for us to do and we students sometimes don’t appreciate our teachers, right? Well, it is a part of being a student.
Teachers teaches us in all ways, guide us through different challenges. Their patience is so long because for us students even though we are so naughty they still forgive us and they give us another chance to change. They teach us very well and give us enough knowledge about things we don’t know yet. We students must love and respect our teachers because they have been a part of our student’s life.
Thank you for all my teachers for being my second parent, second guardian but most of all, My HERO who saves us from any circumstances and challenges that we may step on.

My Teacher, My Hero!

*Science Month Celebration*

In this month of September, this is the start of the "ber" months where we can feel excitement but before anything else let us enjoy the remaining months where we can spend our time in anything that make us happy.
In the month of September is considered as the National Science Club Month Celebration (NSCMC) under the Presidential Proclamation No. 264. Which then-President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo signed in September 2002. During the National Science Club Month Celebration, the Philippine Society of Youth Science Clubs (PSYSC) conducts activities that encourage the youth to actively participate in the science clubbing movement.
The Philippine Society of Youth Science Clubs is a non-stock, non-profit, non-government, and non-sectarian organization. It is the only national federation of youth science clubs in the Philippines. Its thrust is to promote the Public Understanding of Science, Technology and Environment. With more than 100,000 active members nationwide, the society on its 39th year of existence is continuously conducting activities geared towards the promotion of scientific interests and consciousness among our youth.
Let's talk about the insights of the Science Month Celebration. According to a post on the official Facebook page of the Philippine Society of Youth Science Clubs (PSYSC). The group explained the rationale behind the theme as follows: "It is a play on words on ammunition and immunization. We would like our science clubbers to be armed or to be immune against diseases through imparting knowledge about disease on how they spread and etc. Our goal is not only the science clubbers that benefit from this knowledge but also their school and communities and thus leading to national wellness."

As the Science Club Vice-President of our school, I would like to promote the mission of our organization and this is where we would like to promote the public understanding of Science, Technology and Environment to be immune or to be armed against the present issues of diseases where it can affects the life of the person.

#My Hero is My Family*

A hero works beyond the scope of his or her job, possibly as a volunteer. A hero responds to a social need, or the needs of a person or  a group. A hero moves out of its comfort zone, for example something she has no experience with, and may even put her life on the line.
A hero meets a need, reacts in the moment, or feels strongly about some injustice in the world. A hero has an impact on others; brought innovation to his/her field to help the less fortunate; developed a program directed at those in need; raised funds for a specific cause; or rescued someone whose life was in trouble or danger.
A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles. A hero is someone who understands the responsibility that comes with his/her freedom. And a hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself.
As modern time comes, there are those heroes shine from their names and super powers like Superman, Batman, Wonderwoman and etc. But for me my hero in my life is my family, my mother and my father who cares for me in trouble times or in problems that I will encounter. They are so brave in times of problems. They show to me they can resolve that problem. And I believe then that they can. And we believe in the saying, "When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death , so that when your time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home".

WIKA NAPAKAHALAGA!!!

Nakaukit sa kanyang huling himlayan ang mga katagang: "Statesman and Patriot, Lover of Freedom, Advocate of Social Justice, at Beloved of his People.

#Flashback Memories

Technology is the present world. It affects people's daily lives. Everyone has seen the moody, withdrawn kid with music blasting out of his/her white ear buds, or the girl or the boy rapidly texting on his/her phone. For instance, our parents and grandparents did not have fancy cellphones or high-tech computers back then because it was never created. But the youth of today are constantly immersed in technological advancements that promote nonstop communication and instant gratification, whether through cellphones, gaming systems, laptops, or MP3 players. But are these technological advancements a good thing? Yes, because it makes the life of people easier and this technological advancements can help us in our daily lives, whether it in school or at home. And for me the purpose of this technologies is for educational purposes only and for some pastime is for gaming.
In our ICT subject I learned something like making our own blogspot and trying to put something in there. And I discover I can write essays/journals to be posted in my blog. This blog is not only a requirement but at the same time, this blog can make me express my feelings or emotions about the happenings in our environment and society. And I discover in making my blogspot is that editing the posts I posted and editing the background of my blogspot  to be more presentable.
Nothing problems or challenges I have encountered but the only problem I have encountered is the internet connection when it is not functioning well or the network connection is not available and so I cannot make my post anymore. But I address this problem/challenge by asking help from my teacher in ICT IV, Mrs. Evelyn Vera Cruz. She is the one who can help  me in my problem. She can fix the problem I encountered in my computer  workstation.
Moving on, I will do everything to do my activities, projects and assignments be a good outcome of every sacrifices I made.

Beware for Everything!

As technology and modern advancement bind the earth little by little, more and more dilemmas are uprising and creeping sluggishly, pulling the earth towards the mud of eternal unknowingness. The more industrialization establishes itself, the more natural resources are being eradicated, murdered to death. More people are getting sick, more are dying, more are parted from their dreams. Everything just seem to vanish in an instant.
Proper  nutrition and its maintenance had been one of the most intriguing focuses in the world today. The determining factor in the total health of an individual seems to be a thing that is very hard to catch and get that even the most advance machineries cannot offer any help. One of the factors involved in the attainment of proper nutrition is eating fruits and vegetables accompanied by drinking 8 to 10 glasses of water to cleanse your body and to keep you away from diseases. Proper nutrition means invicibility to diseases. Good nutritional status is noted when man benefits from a well-balanced dietary intake.
This month of July is the Nutrition Month Celebration. Many activities were given to us, planned by the officers of the STEP/TLE CLUB. Some of the activities were done successfully like the mural painting, poster-slogan contest, cook-fest, Nutri-jingle and etc. The theme they used is "Kalamidad Paghandaan, Gutom at Malnutrisyon Agapan".
Therefore, eating right amount and kinds of food everyday is tremendous contribution of nutrition to prevent diseases. Proper nutrition is the very thing we nee now. our existence will mean a lot as well as our goals if we can utilize this. If only we can set aside every earthly distraction and pay close attention to health and life, then every man can wake up each day facing the new hope of the golden sun and providing the wellspring of progress in the world.

Letter for the President

Dear President,

First of all I would like to congratulate you for your success as the President in the Philippines. I may say that there are a lot of achievements, contributions and projects that made the Philippines beautiful, attractable for the tourists and made the Philippines much improve than the other time pasts.
I salute you sir not as the son of the late Benigno Aquino, Sr. and the late President Corazon "Cory" Aquino but as the president of the Philippines, who are trying to make a lot of improvements in our country. In this letter I would enumerate some of your greatest contributions that made the Philippines much improve to see,  like in line of education, you made the program k-12 education program. Next your slogans like "Kung Walang Corrupt, Walang Mahirap" and "Matuwid Na Daan, Tungo Sa Magandang Kinabukasan". These slogans mark our heads through your election days and as you were elected as the president, you really did an action through it. An example of it is the Pork Barrel Scam or known as the PDAF Scam, even if you are in government you put equal judgement through them and put some of them behind bars specially the sinners.
I want to thank you for all your hard work  sir. Thank you for making improvements in our country. I hope that you can help some of the unemployed people to have work. I hope you can also put the criminals in jail so that they will pay their sins. And I hope you can have more contributions to make the Philippines be a great place to all. This is the only things that I would like to say to you sir president Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III.

Sincerely Yours,
Jules Renard Rivera
